Why KOHLER Power?
Why KOHLER Power?
• Automatic, hands-off operation
In the event of a utility power outage, the transfer switch – working in tandem with the generator – automatically starts the generator to restore power to the home, whether you’re home or away.
• Fast backup power
KOHLER generators restore power within 10 seconds of an outage.
• Clean, digital power
KOHLER standby generators feature the industry’s only true digital power and supply worry-free protection for even the most sophisticated home appliances and electronics.
New, sleek weather-resistant sound enclosures protect the unit from the year-round elements and keep operating noise at neighborly-friendly levels – at or below 65 dB(A), quieter than a typical vacuum cleaner.
The 12RES model is the only generator in its class powerful enough to start and run a typical 4-ton (48,000 BTU) central-air conditioner.
• Easy to service
Simple to use, the KOHLER Advanced Digital Control (ADC) shows readings on output, battery voltage, oil pressure, engine hours, run conditions and system fault conditions, while providing precision power and password-secure access (currently offered on units 8 kW to 30 kW). In the unlikely event service is required, it can often be provided over the phone.
• Easy to install
The 8.5kW and 12kW units are equipped with a built-in mounting pad for reduced installation time and cost.
• Natural gas or LP fuel
Unlike portable generators that need to be refueled and manually started, KOHLER generator sets are fueled by your home’s existing fuel source – natural gas or liquid propane (LP).
All KOHLER standby residential generators are UL tested and listed to UL 2200 for your safety and protection. KOHLER automatic transfer switches are UL tested and listed to UL 1008.
All KOHLER generator sets and components are prototype tested, factory built and production tested.
Slightly larger than the main distribution panel, the automatic transfer switch exercises the generator weekly to keep it performing at peak efficiency.
Due to the cycling nature of many of these devices, any KOHLER® generator you select may not run all of the appliances simultaneously. Check the manufacturers’ specifications for actual power requirements. Consult a Kohler Power Systems Professional for your exact residential power system requirements. Professional installation required.
The new KOHLER 12 kW generator is the only generator in its class powerful enough to start and run a typical 4-ton (48,000 BTU) central air conditioner in the event of a power outage. Until now, a 18 kw or larger generator was required to run central air along with all other major appliances.
